About Project
Mascot Railway Station, situated in Sydney’s inner south, has been a pivotal transportation node since its inception. Located on the Airport line, it serves the bustling Sydney suburb of Mascot and is operated by the Airport Link Company. The station was inaugurated on 21 May 2000, marking a significant expansion of the Airport line from Central to Wolli Creek. Over the years, the station has seen a surge in its patronage, especially after the removal of the access fee in March 2011. This led to a whopping 117% increase in ridership between 2015 and 2019.
Recognising the growing demands of commuters, Transport for NSW (TfNSW) announced a major upgrade for Mascot Station. This upgrade encompasses a new entrance and exit equipped with modern escalators and a lift. To further enhance the commuter experience, additional ticket gates will be installed, aiming to streamline the flow of passengers through the station. These measures are not only designed to alleviate crowding but also to ensure that the station is well-prepared to handle the anticipated increase in customer volumes in the future.
