About Project

Tom Uglys Bridge is a significant landmark located in southern Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Comprising two road bridges, the first was completed in 1929 and the second in 1987. These bridges facilitate the Princes Highway’s passage across the Georges River, connecting the St George area at Blakehurst to the Sutherland Shire at Sylvania. The 1929 bridge, a Pratt truss design, is listed on the New South Wales State Heritage Register and supports three lanes of northbound vehicular traffic. In contrast, the 1987 bridge, constructed of concrete box girder, was erected to the east of the older bridge and manages the three southbound lanes. Both bridges also accommodate shared pathways for bicycles and pedestrians.

Mascot Steel’s involvement in the region’s infrastructure is noteworthy. In 1978, Mascot Steel collaborated closely with the JHG team, supplying structural steel for various projects. The company takes immense pride in having had the opportunity to contribute to one of Sydney’s key landmarks, reflecting its commitment to quality and the city’s development.
